Summer weddings are always a treat for us designers because we get to play with the most beautiful pastel colours in our palette. The soft and dreamy hues are perfect for creating a romantic and airy vibe. When Michelle and Stephen approached us to design the stationery for their summer wedding at Immerse Winery in the Yarra Valley, we were ecstatic! The couple wanted a pink and green theme, which is one of our favourite colour combinations.
We dove right into the design process, brainstorming ideas and concepts that would best suit Michelle and Stephen’s vision. The moodboard we created was filled with shades of pink, green and other bright vibes. It was the perfect inspiration for designing the stationery suite. We wanted to create something that would capture the essence of the couple’s love story, while also reflecting the beauty of their wedding venue.
The final result was a stationery suite that embodied everything that Michelle and Stephen had envisioned for their special day. The soft pastel colours of pink and green were beautifully incorporated in every detail of the suite, from the invitations to the signage. We were thrilled with how it all came together, and most importantly, the couple loved it too!
The Invitations
To capture the lively essence of Michelle and Stephen, we infused their invitation with a playful touch at the beginning.
“Wedding. Yes. Good. Weekend. Yes, Good. Wine. Yes. Very Good. Do you have plans for Sunday 22nd December 2019? You do now.”
To minimise paper usage and take advantage of Michelle and Stephen’s existing wedding website, we opted for double-sided invitations. The reverse side featured essential details such as information about children attending the wedding, the website address and RSVP instructions.
The Itinerary
As part of the comprehensive stationery suite, we designed a visually appealing timeline-style itinerary specifically for the bridal party. The timeline meticulously outlined the order of events on the wedding day. To add a touch of charm, we incorporated adorable icons that symbolised each unique moment, enhancing the overall aesthetic and functionality of the itinerary.
The Thank You’s
Michelle and Stephen asked us to create thank you tags to tie onto their bonbonnieres. We designed these in the same style as the invitations to keep it cohesive.
Next up were the thank you cards for post-wedding gratitude. ‘Salamat’ means ‘Thank You’ in Filipino and was a special touch to make the cards bilingual.
The Wedding Day
We were incredibly fortunate to have the talented Kyra Boyer Photography capture stunning shots of Michelle and Stephen’s wedding. She captured some of the stationery on the day and has kindly shared them with us. The weather couldn’t have been more perfect, and it was wonderful to witness our designs come to life within the beautiful venue.
The Welcome Sign
With careful consideration, Michelle and Stephen strategically positioned the welcoming sign at a prominent spot between the chapel and reception hall. This placement ensured that guests could easily locate both venues. To provide clear guidance, arrows were incorporated onto the sign, pointing towards each location. This thoughtful detail made navigating the event seamless for all attendees.
The Seating Chart
The reception had three long tables and a smaller table for the children. We replicated this layout onto the seating chart and used three columns to depict where each person would sit.
