In February this year, we collaborated with Snaps By Novi, a talented photographer from Perth, to create a fun editorial baby announcement photoshoot at Feld & Co in Booragoon. With the small but meaningful details in mind, we designed a conceptual baby shower for soon-to-be parents, Jake and Sarah. They gave us complete creative freedom with the styling and invitations and were such a joy to work with! In addition to being our models for the shoot, Jake and Sarah intended to use the photos as a creative way to share the joyful news of the upcoming arrival of their baby.
The Invitations
For Jake and Sarah’s baby announcement, we designed an invitation featuring an illustrated banana, a fun nod to the adorable size of bub at the time. To complement the invitation, we included an envelope with a banana pattern, adding a cute and quirky touch that really captured the joy and excitement of the announcement. It was a playful yet meaningful way to highlight just how tiny and precious their bub was in that special moment.

The Table Styling
For the table styling, we went for a fun mix of black and yellow, adding a bold, elegant touch. The rich black paired with the bright yellow brought a little old-school glamour, while keeping things fresh and vibrant. We also added some vintage elements to give it that nostalgic, timeless feel. It all came together perfectly, creating a look that was both classic and on-trend for the baby announcement celebration.
The Newspaper Announcement
Adilah, the talented designer behind Paper Atelier Co., created a bespoke newspaper baby announcement that perfectly told Jake and Sarah’s unique story. The newspaper’s charm didn’t stop there—these custom pages were also used to create a runner along the table, tying the entire look together with a personal, creative touch. We thought it was a beautiful way to highlight their journey while adding a quirky yet meaningful detail to the celebration.
Final thoughts
Seeing Jake and Sarah’s faces light up with delight at the final result was truly rewarding. They surprised their guests with the announcement, which added an element of fun and excitement to the celebration. Knowing that we helped create lasting, happy memories for them made the entire experience even more special.
