Janet and Hamed celebrated their culture-infused Perth wedding at Hadiqa on a delightful spring evening in the month of October. We were thrilled to have been asked to help design and create their entire wedding stationery suite – starting with invitations through to on-the-day items. Naz from Manis Moments beautifully captured the celebrations and has kindly shared the photos with us.

The Invitations

We worked alongside Janet to design a beautiful one-card invitation featuring a dual-layer design. The background showcased a captivating print of delicate pink peonies and we printed the important event details on a translucent overlay. Janet took an extra step to add rose gold foiling to the invitation text using reactive foil and a laminator.

We assembled each invitation by fastening the two layers together with a touch of elegance using golden eyelets. Furthermore, the invitation paired perfectly with a Seedling Green envelope to complete the set. The ultimate outcome evoked a sense of springtime bloom and elegance.

The Table Stationery

The brief that we received for the table stationery was to maintain a clean and minimalistic design. Janet and Hamed’s styling centered around a greenery theme, accentuated by white highlights in the form of floral elements. To align with this vision, we selected a colour palette of forest green and white for the stationery.

Table Numbers

To complement Hadiqa’s Middle Eastern ambience, we chose arch-shaped table numbers. Consistent with the overall table stationery, we kept the design simple. We printed the numbers in forest green on a white background. We then placed the table numbers on wooden card holders for a clean and no-fuss look.

Place Cards

For the place cards, we created tent-fold cards to match the table numbers. We added a touch of vitality by adorning each card with a delicate sprig of fresh Baby’s Breath. This not only complemented the overall theme but also introduced a lively and charming element to each individual card.

The Entrance Signage

Janet and Hamed preferred using A1 photo frames over foam boards for their signage. This led us to create and print their welcome sign and seating chart as posters. They requested to include a special phrase on the welcome sign, which we strategically positioned at the top. For those wondering, the phrase pays homage to Hamed’s surname. We wanted to ensure it would be the first thing guests notice, imparting a meaningful touch to their event experience.

The Information Stationery

We also had the task of designing a few extra items apart from the essential elements such as table numbers, place cards, and signage. These additional items included Order of Service cards and informative signage.

Order of Service Cards

Janet and Hamed had a few events happening in different areas throughout the evening and sought a way for their guests to stay informed. In response, we designed an Order of Service timeline, individually printed for guests to conveniently take for reference.

Lion Dance Red Packet Sign

In the vibrant celebration of Janet and Hamed’s wedding, we were asked to design a special sign for the Chinese Lion Dance. For those unfamiliar with the tradition, the Lion Dance is a spirited performance deeply rooted in Chinese culture, symbolising good luck and fortune. To infuse this cultural richness into the wedding festivities, we created a sign to guide guests on a delightful custom: the giving of monetary donations using traditional red packets. This colourful and symbolic practice adds an extra layer of excitement and cultural charm to the joyous occasion, inviting everyone to partake in the shared joy and good wishes for the newlyweds.
